"I've worked with Vanessa on two different shoots. Both went perfect, as Vanessa is probably one of the best in the bizz when it comes to navigating through the forest of red tape necessary to shoot anywhere on the Philippines. The last shoot I did with her was for the Dutch production "Ellie on Patrol", in which we joined several police units during the week. This required a lot of paperwork and being on top of your game all the time. As working with an organisation like the Manilla PD can be frustrating, communication wise.
For the "Ellie on Patrol" shoot we needed all kinds of permits and stamps. In the proces of pre-production this meant a lot of meetings with officials and chasing stamps and approvals. Vanessa kept me up to speed during this entire process. Lengthy and complete updates on meetings she had with the police, made sure our expectations of the shoot were managed. She has a very clear understanding what it is a client needs for a good shoot, and has a big sense of responsibility. During the shoot she kept in touch will the different police units and really pushed to get us on the most interesting patrols. She doesn't solely focus on the productional side of things, she also thinks about the storyline. Which made her instantly a valued member of our crew. Besides all that, she is just an absolute joy and a lot of fun to work with!"
